Our Goal
There are cheaper puppies out there, but sometimes it's not worth bargain shopping; especially, when your looking for a life-long best friend and companion. It does cost to provide the best care and attention, that the mom and pups need, both before and after they are born. We are commited to raising healthy, well-socialized, happy puppies. We will not allow any puppy, who is not-well, to go to their new home. All of our dogs are family dogs and have been raised in our home. Our puppies are also raised in our home, and become socialized into a family atmosphere. They have the attention, love and participation of our entire family, including the kids.

General Care
Nutrition and health, are the two items of most importance. We make sure the Dam is current on all of her vaccinations, as well as wormed (as a precaution), before being bred. We use Science Diet puppy and adult for the adults, puppies, and the weaning process. This is a highly nutritious food, well balanced, and very agreeable with Boxer's digestive systems. The Dam's meals are increased and broken into several meals a day to meet the growing demands of the developing puppies. Once born, the only addition is, Esbilac Goats Milk for Puppies. This
is very similiar to mother's milk, and rich in and fortified with vitamins and minerals. We use this for supplimental feedings if necessary, for a puppy that is getting pushed off or if a litter is large, as well as for the mother. We mix it into her feed initially, to help support the milk quality and demand.
Tails and dew claws are removed following a few days after being born, and a vet check is done for the first time. We monitor every puppy's  weight at least 2-3 times a week. Their bedding is kept dry and clean daily. We use a disinfectant periodically, called Nolvasan Solution, which is a bactericide and virucide for animals. We use this to clean, freshen, and disinfect the whelping box floor. By the time they have reached 2 weeks of age, we begin to clip nails weekly, partial baths are given periodically (in a controlled enviroment to prevent chilling), and we begin to get ready for the weaning process. The weaning process begins around 2 and 1/2 weeks of age. Wormings will be given at, 6 weeks and 8 weeks, unless a need for more frequent wormings is noted. Why overmedicate a young new puppy's system with  frequent dewormings, (every 2 weeks from the age of 2 weeks), if a puppy is being kept in a clean and sanitary enviroment, and there is no reason to suspect that mom has been exposed or infected. Vaccinations begin at 6 weeks and can be given at 2-4 week intervals until they are 12 weeks of age. They will receive their first vaccination at 6 weeks. Since the puppies will go to their new homes following at least 8 weeks of age, a second vaccination can be given. Older puppies will receive their shots according to the recommended schedule. At 8 weeks of age, all the puppies will go in one more time for a another vet check, and receive their health certificates. A stool sample will be brought in for each puppy so it can be checked and given the all clear.
Puppy Fun and Socialization
Before they receive their first vaccination, we do not bring them outside, to avoid exposing them to anything that could be harmful. Their temporary immunity begins to fade around 6 weeks. At 6 weeks they will receive their first vaccination. Because of this, we begin by holding and talking to them everyday. As they get a little older and steady on their feet, we drop the front door to the whelping box. This allows them to leave the box and play, as well as, begin to leave the box to do their duties. This area is also enclosed and covered with paper. After 6 weeks and weather permitting, they will be introduced to the outdoors. This will be a daily activity, giving them all a chance to figure out how much fun it can be, to be outside. This also helps to accustom them to the outdoors, and most important, begins to encourage them to want to go outside to do their duties. This should get potty training off to a good start.
We continue adding different daily activities until they get big enough to introduce a few toys
and have some play time, especially with the kids, even though the kids are involved in most of the activities anyway.
General Health Guarantee
All puppies will be vet checked and health certificates issued around 8 weeks of age, before they go to their new homes. Once the new owner receives their new puppy, they will have 72 hours to bring the puppy to a vet of their choice to be checked one more time. At this time, if a puppy is found to be unhealthy or unfit to have been sold, the new owner shall contact us immediately. The puppy and all paper work shall be returned along with the statement from the vet who had examined the puppy. The puppy then, shall be replaced with another puppy as soon as possible (when available). A complete refund may also be given, but shall be left to our discretion. We also give a limited extended guarantee for 1 year, which shall cover the puppy for any congenital defects that are found which could adversely effect or cause death within the first year of life.
General Purchase Information
We require a non-refundable deposit of $250.00 to hold a puppy of your choice. Once I receive a check, a puppy is considered, with sale pending. Once the check clears, the puppy will be considered sold. When the puppies are ready to go to their new homes, all balances must be paid in full and all checks cleared. Puppies will not be ready to go to their new homes until at least 8 weeks of age. If a puppy requires shipping, there is an additional cost for airfare and crate. We prefer to avoid shipping if possible, so we are willing to drive and meet half way if it can be done in one day, round trip. If anyone is interested in a puppy, future litter, or would like more information; please email: farmfamily1@yahoo.com or call 815-772-2260.
